Your Character's Name: Raymond

Part 1 (with Blade Runner)

Life has a way of repeating itself.

I drew my gun to the back of the DJ’s head. I didn’t have time for his cryptic messages, and I certainly didn’t have time for the games he was playing on us. I wanted to finish this case and collect my reward. I also wanted Audra to understand exactly what I’m capable of. She had the gull to get in the way of my business so any shock she received from my actions was gladly warranted.

“Tell us how to turn her off,” I commanded.
“Go talk to M.E.R.I.D.I.T.H.”
“I’m not sure if you understand me. Tell us how to turn her off or I’ll shoot you.”
“Talk to M.E.R.I.D.I.T.H.”
“Do you not take me seriously? I. Will. Shoot. You.”

Audra crossed the line. Her daddy issues got the better of her, and for some reason she thought she could interrupt my business. Lucky for her she chose the right words to interrupt me with.

“He’ll do it! Believe me when I tell you he will do it.”

Clever girl.

“I’m the only one that can shut her off,” the DJ informed us.
“Then do it.”
“I need to be by her.”
“Then come with us.”

As we walked back into the cesspool of druggies Audra gave me a wink. She earned it, but I’m worried for her. If she doesn’t cool her attitude or learn to shoot a gun her life will be a short one. Shorter than this DJ’s life if he doesn’t do as he’s told. Right now that doesn’t seem to be a problem.

Rabies grinded away on M.E.R.I.D.I.T.H. with a passion that wasn’t wasted on me a day and a half ago. It made my blood boil a bit, but at this point I was more fed up with her attitude than anything else. Her name was in full effect on herself, as the music and rundown bit into her bloodstream. I admire the taste of booze, but have never been fond of drugs. The two are the difference between jazz and Britney Spears. One encompasses sex; the other encompasses the passing of time inside a female. Rabies was on Britney Spears… ME.R.I.D.I.T.H. was playing Britney Spears.

“Turn her off DJ.”

Rabies looked at me in shock. She knew what I was here to do: unplug the nicotine machine keeping her soul alive. I knew she wouldn’t go down without a fight. She grinded her way over to the DJ.

“What are you doing,” the manipulative bitch asked our nervous friend.
“Unplugging M.E.R.I.D.I.T.H.”
“I don’t want you to unplug her. We’re having so much fun.”
“What are you doing Rabies,” I interjected like ice. “We have a job to do and we’re going to do it. You can listen to your music a different time.”
“We can’t rob these people of their good time.”

I looked to Roen for help, but he was too busy staring at M.E.R.I.D.I.T.H.’s elctroboobs. I knew he was only an inch from failing his celibacy, but I had no clue he was into androids. I mean, M.E.R.I.D.I.T.H. was hotter than Zhora, but Roen was no Rick Deckard. That comparison should be left to me.

“Rabies, shut up. DJ, turn her off.”
“I need to be alone,” he told me.

M.E.R.I.D.I.T.H. didn’t want to be left alone. Her glow stick hair wrapped around me as she clenched to my back. Her touch was cold but surprisingly soft. I could make out the metal deep inside her body, but I assume people could have a good time with her and never know.

“You know I’m just your type.”

Her words were surprisingly seducing. I’ve met androids before, but the programming on this piece of machinery was unique. My father had told me how he stumbled across a whorehouse of robots in Texas once. They repeated canned orgasmic noises, nothing else. No blood speeding seductions, or kinky little phrases. I understood why Draco wanted the DJ’s equipment (not quite sure why he wanted the DJ himself though).

“Let’s go,” I said to Roen. We quickly headed for the door, the music box drone clinging to my back. Audra held the DJ’s hands behind him. I don’t know if she was trying to impress me, but she did. The girl adapts fast. Maybe she is a survivor.

As we headed for the door, the ravers caught onto us. They headed outside where the musical hypnosis would surely continue. Doubtfully, Rabies also caught onto my plan. She halted herself right in front of me and gave me those eyes of hers that attracted me when I first gazed upon them in Seattle. I swear if God would rip the studs from her lips & ears, let her hair breath freely, and place her in a world of black & white then she would be perfect, and I would give anything for it. God didn’t give that to me, but He gave me this moment with her right here. No glazed over eyes. No withdrawal shivers. Just full on female manipulation. Audra snapped my attention.

“She’s too loud. We need to shut her off.”
“Let’s take her to the girl’s bathroom,” angel eyes chimed.
“I’m coming with you,” I piqued. Roen looked at me in his prudish way. “I’m the only one who knows the space.” He continued the look.

The DJ and Rabies shared a suspicions glance as we headed into the oh-so-familiar bathroom. We left Roen behind. I’m positive he was either dying to join us or cursing us to hell. Nonetheless, the robot was going to be shut off, whether he was there to witness it or not.
